  • SHORE & TUNDRA BIRDS-Curlew, Bristle-thighed. 2013.5.23#178.4. I got to photograph these rare Curlews probing the strand line for about four hours. The majority of what they kept showing me were these tiny tube worms. Eastern Cook Inlet near Anchor River Alaska.

I thought that maybe he couldn't  break it on rocks like he normally would, but it was brought to my attention by a biologist friend it was probably an exoskeleton and the reason for the lack of interest. They were mixed with Pectoral Sandpipers. They stopped for a short time to refuel on the shores of Cook Inlet near Potter Marsh before continuing north.
