  • PA-F-Trillium grandiflorum 2012.4.24#065. There are very few of these large flowered Trilliums growing unprotected in the wild where I grew up in PA. They are a favorite food item of the Whitetail Deer in early spring. A unique and interesting feature is how their seeds are spread. It is called myrmecochory. It refers to ant-mediated dispersal. How's that for something different? Bucks Co.,PA.
