  • X-MARINE-Jellyfish, Lion's Mane Jellyfish 1983.10#52.6. Cyanea capillata.This was easily 5 to 6 feet across, by far the most spectacular jellyfish I ever saw. These are the largest Jellyfish species in the world. They can cause severe pain if stung by it's tentacles, it usually won't kill a person but swimming into one can cause a severe allergic reaction and pain. Medical attention is advised. I encountered this on a beach near Belkofski Village, Alaska Peninsula Alaska.
