  • BEAR, BROWN-2010.8L.12#102.4. Possibly the largest and oldest bear to ever live on the Alaskan Peninsula. During his life he was observed at Brooks Falls and here on the McNeil River sometimes in the same years. Not an extraordinary distance compared to what other wildlife travel, but given his age (23 years) and weight 49 miles is a pretty good walk. He had one specific spot he always fished. He ran the bear from along the Toklat river up into these cliffs and when the younger bear retreated he ran it all the way out of sight up the Toklat River. Denali Park, Alaska.
