But more recently biologist's have confirmed that a good hard freeze reduces the toxicity and they will immediately take advantage and feed on them. This image pretty much verifies that fact. I have images from three different years when this occurred and when the sheep got in the alder's they didn't leave for two or three weeks. Denali Park, Alaska.
