  • BW-2017.9.5#1019. A large Wood Bison bull. East of Liard, British Columbia Canada.
  • C-1985.8#7dX. Some years in Alaska ice will persist on some rivers through the summer. These ice slabs are called Aufeis. Caribou will congregate on these ice patches to get relief from both the flys and the heat. Alaska.
  • C-1987.8.1#23. Barren Ground Caribou during the summer molt. Sheep Mountain, above the old Meekin homestead, Alaska. Scanned from old film stock.
  • C-1987.8.15#310d. One of my favorite souvenier images from the old days in Alaska. A really great caribou bull with wide palmated tops aand double shovels with a group of lesser bulls crossing a side channel of the Sagavanirktuk River just a little south of Deadhorse Alaska. Salvaged from old film stock.
  • C-2006.9.3#020.2b. Always a special time when you can get to the top of the mountain ridges and get a subject back dropped by mountains below. This great bull is already wound up before the rutting season starts, going hard and grunting continuously as it passes Mary Lou and I. Denali Park Alaska. Along with the many problems salvaging images from old film stock, this one had really bad heat waves.
  • C-2007.10.12#200d4. A herd bull in a frenzy trying to keep his cows together during an almost whiteout day. There were many satellite bulls trying to get near his cows. A great day for me getting to move around with over a hundred animals getting all these moody captures. Denali Country, Eastern Alaska Range Alaska. I had to developed and redeveloped this image many times before I was satisfied because they were almost all a true monochrome the light was so poor, but now I will try to get more of the images developed and posted from this day. I have several hundred interesting images from this day.
  • C-2008.6.5#026. Barren Ground Caribou cow with newborn calf. Kenia Nat. Wildlife Refuge, Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#033.4. One of my most memorable nights and days spending time with the Caribou. All I could hear all night long was grunting and hooves clacking in my camp. I got up long before there was any light to photograph and watched the dark forms of caribou moving all around past my camp. Eastern Denali Country, Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#051. Alaska Barren Ground Caribou resting during fall migration. Eastern Alaska Range, Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#087. Barren Ground Caribou trails. After they have passed. Alaska Range Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#109. A Barren Ground cow caribou. Eastern Alaska Range, Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#160.c3. A bull caribou with a bit of an unusual antler formation. Denali Country Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#161.5.
  • C-2008.10.4#231.c4. A real nice bull caribou gives me a brief chance for a couple of portrait captures before hurrying off to keep up with his herd. Denali Country Alaska.
  • C-2008.10.4#232 Barren Ground Caribou. One of my most memorable caribou shoots. I had caribou moving past and all around me all day. Never saw anything like it before or since. Eastern Alaska Range, Alaska.
  • C-2009.6.10#119.2X. A bull caribou crossing a tundra pond following a herd moving to their summer grounds. North Slope Alaska.
  • C-2009.6.10#162.3. Near milepost 350, North Slope Alasa.
  • C-2009.6.11#030. Caribou bulls grazing along the "Sag" River in front of Franklin Bluffs, Coastal Plain of the North Slope Alaska.
  • C-2009.6.11#074.Caribou, Barren Ground. Franklin Bluffs, Coastal Plain of the North Slope Alaska.
