  • M-2009.10.1#003.3. A large bull moose that matured to gain nice width for an Anchorage moose. He was easily recognizable by his loped off left ear. He grew a drop tine from the underside of his left antler 3 times, but never in consecutive years. Most times I observed this moose it was in Kincaid Park, but this encounter was in a neighborhood closer to Four corners on Raspberry. Anchorage, Alaska. This was the last time I would ever see him.
  • M-2009.10.1#003.5. A large bull I've known for a number of years, maturing enough to attain great width for an Anchorage moose. He was easy to recognize with his lopped off left ear. He also grew a bayonet like point under his left antler every other year. I usually found him somewhere in Kincaid Park but this year he is in a neighborhood close to Four Corners on Raspberry. Alaska.
  • M-2009.10.1#024.2. The estrus period hasn't ended yet but this old Alaska bull seems to be content resting. I believe he probably bred all the cows in this area already. Kincaid Park, Anchorage Alaska.
  • M-2009.10.1#024.6.

  • M-2010.9.3#002-084. The bull on the left was called Tuning Fork and Scar Face. The one on the right was a "Copper Toe" on his left rear hoof. They did the antler rocking slow motion posturing for quite some time. Ten Mile, Denali Park Alaska. See the video in the next image.

  • M-2010.9.3#133.3. A great bull moose, not a giant but a good 65 inches wide or so with big palmated brows. I knew this bull for several years, He was more shy then many other Denali moose so it was hard to get him in the open with good light. These were shot near seven mile in Denali Nat. Park Alaska.
  • M-2010.9.3#2321.2. The same bull in the previous image a little later in the day. Denali Park, Alaska.

They would walk away and make small circles back to each other until getting a a willow tree and some brush between them and finally made some aggressive contact. The bull on the right is the same bull in the previous two images. See the next video image. Denali Park Alaska.
