  • M-2016.10.1#209. This was like the last second Hook was standing. The other bull was lunging as I snapped this, Hook lost his footing and they both almost crashed right into me. Anchorage Alaska.
  • M-2016.10.1#211. "Hook" heading away from the area for downtown Anchorage.
  • M-2016.10.1#235. The bull called "Hook" and my friend Ryan Miller. Back to the beginning of this day when I intersected Hook and Ryan, he was trailing Hook. Most of the day after that knowing this animal as well as he did he anticipated and knew where Hook was going the entire time and ran parallel or ahead of hook the whole day. It wasn't until here that I discovered my autofocus accidently got turned off and got it going again. These were the only clear shots of the day for me but what an incredible time it was getting to be a small part of this event. Anchorage Alaska. See Ryan Miller's Explore Alaska Photography site for the most amazing images of Hook and spectacular Wild Sheep.
  • M-2016.10.1#242. Ryan leading Hook into the forest on the rest of his journey down the coast. For some really amazing images of Hook and many other moose and spectacular Wild Sheep images, look at Ryan Miller's Explore Alaska Photography Site. Anchorage Alaska.
  • M-2017.9.2#258. The bull on the left showed up in 2011. He was probably 8 or more years old then. He had unusual & unique antlers over 60 inches. He came every year after that, showing up bigger each year in all dimensions. This was his final year, very heavy, high 70 inches wide with big full palms and palmated brows. He was certainly worthy of being called the Lord of the Kingdom this year. Denali Park Alaska. I was moveing from Alaska and on the drive to Arizona when I got to shoot these images. Nobody has seen this bull again since 2017. I was afraid it was his last year.

  • M-sf4-2015.9.16#208. Alaska Moose. A Grand old bull stops traffic in Denali. Would have been a great photo opp just to get this bull emerging from the forest on his walkabout, but having my friend Bill from Maine show up with his family made this a really special moment. Savage country, Denali Park Alaska.
