  • 93-2008.10.4.c3. A bull caribou with unusual antler formation. Denali Country Alaska.

  • 99-2012.8.21#178. A unique pair of really large mature caribou bulls. One still with unblemished velvet, the other completely cleaned off. Alaska Range, Alaska.
  • 101-1997.5#10. A very large full curl Dall ram with unusual corrugated rings on the boss of his horns. We could not figure out how these rams managed to get in this cube like place with steep shear walls thirty plus feet high on three sides and a sheer drop of more then fifty feet where I shot from. So, we called them the "hole in the wall rams". Denali Park Alaska. Scanned from old film stock.
  • 103-2011.9.12#099. This was the first year this large mature bull showed up in the Savage country of Denali Park. His antler formation was unusual and unique. He became very special and my all time favorite when he showed up every year after this until 2017. We recognized early on his antlers were very similar to another bull from years past that was known as the "eighty incher" and "Savage Bull". He didn't attain the same stature of the eighty incher but was high 70 inches wide with great full palms and really great palmated brows in 2017. Savage country, Denali Park, Alaska.
  • 105-BR2010.8.13#143- A Brown bear grazing on sedges works closer to us while scanning his surroundings. Enders Island, McNeil River. Alaska Peninsula Alaska.
  • 107-2007.11.16#121.9. A bull that was known to Fish and Game as #55. I spent a lot of time with this bull and he was never aggressive towards me. Most of the bull moose in the Anchorage bowl don't have the genetic make up to produce full wide palms and palmated brows with lots of points. They instead have 2 or 3 point brows but grow long heavy points and sometimes a lot of nontypical formations. I photographed this bull for 6 years and he was a great example of that. Conners Bog, Anchorage, Alaska.
  • 109-2001.5.30#401. A very heavy horned Dall ram. Chugach mountains Alaska. Scanned from old film stock.
  • 111-2009.5.15#102. Interior Grizzly bear. This bear paused for a brief second in a very narrow shaft of light, beaming through a hole in thick cloud cover as the sun was setting. He then vanished into the willows of the valley behind him. Denali Park Alaska.
  • 113-2009.6.12#106. A family group of Muskox along the Sagavanirktuk River, North Slope, Alaska. A 2x3 ratio format of this image is viewable in the Muskox section of this gallery.
  • 115-2009.12.4#100. A large full curl Dall ram still tending a ewe near the end of the rut displays with a "lip curl". Chugach mountains, Alaska.
