  • M-2012.9.11#059. Moose and the fall color. Eleven mile, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2012.9.25#056. A real warrior bull. I was familiar with this bull for a number of years and never saw him back down from another bull. This was all fresh damage when I encountered him earlier this day. Three broken tines and a bloodied forehead but he was tending two cows so I guess he won. Mile nine, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2012.9.25#078. A gnarly old bull moose. As evidenced by the most recent damage on this bulls antlers and face he is obviously very aggressive during the rut. Observed near eight mile in Denali Park Alaska. This is one of two bulls that frequented the Park at the same time People dubbed them Scarface. Many didn't know the difference between the two, but this one had very different antlers and much more damage on his forehead then the other similar bull.
  • M-2012.9.26#205.2. Another really special bull moose that lived in the Savage country of Denali Park years ago.
  • M-2012.10.6#100.5. A bull that has been tending cows in the Chalet and Lake area of Kincaid Park Anchorage. He seems to be tired and not wanting to move.
  • M-2013.6.15#023.4. This cow moose didn't like where she was keeping her calves. We observed her moving them almost a half mile away. Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.6.29#081. A moose cow with calves feeding on pond vegetation. Near Healy, Alaska.
  • M-2013.8.23#003.4. A flirty cow is following a bull during the "silent estrus". Long before the real estrus period. This scene looks like summer as no frost has come to the taiga forest yet. Colors are about a week behind the previous year. Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.8.23#030. A cow moose browsing on willows. Mile five, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.8.23#304. Alaska moose in velvet. Green colors still persist and dominate as no frost has come to the taiga forest yet. Mile ten, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.9.9#032. A cow moose with a small bull exhibiting behavior seen during the silent estrus. Nine mile, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.9.9#207. A cow moose exibits behavior of "The silent estrus", weeks before the actual rutting period. Mile nine, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.9.10#104. A cow & calf moose have emerged from the taiga forest to graze on forbs in a tundra pond just before dark. Alaska Range, Alaska.
  • M-2013.9.17#091. A small bull moose out on a "rut" walk. Estrus hasn't started yet, but is close. He will have to work harder then a large bull locating some cows for himself. Near mile eight, Denali Park Alaska.
  • M-2013.9.17#102 A young Alaska bull moose. Near mile eight, Denali Park Alaska.
