Another really awesome Desert Bighorn Ram. 2021.9.29#5485.3.

  • A famous and familiar Dall ram to many folks back in the North Country. 2001.1#7b9. Most folks knew him as One-eye. He lived on the steep cliffs along Turnagain Arm south of Anchorage Alaska for quite a few years. I was really fortunate I got to spend many days with him all by myself. No one really knows how he lost his right eye, but there's a good chance it happened while banging heads with other rams during the rut a few years before this. He sure looks like an alpha male. Scanned and repaired from old film stock. My only regret might be that I had better equipment back then...
  • A favorite old ram of mine from the "Old Days". Shot with one of my first Nikon digital camera's. 2007.9.1#048.6. I spent time with him for three years before he disappeared. Denali Park Alaska.
  • A Hackberry Emperor Butterfly sunning near the V Bar V Petroglyph site. One of the most frequently observed butterflies in the Sycamore canyons. Beaver Creek, Arizona.
  • A large male Gray Wolf is patrolling his territory. 2006.9.2#0009a7. Denali Park Alaska. A redo from an old version I was never happy with.
  • A black phase Gray Wolf patrolling his territory. An image that has tortured me for a long time getting the jet black and the bright sun lite blown out colors of the tundra balanced. 2006.9.2#0275.7X. Denali Park, Alaska.
  • A Pronghorn buck that dropped his horns a few weeks ago. 2021.10.28#8237.3. Yavapai County Arizona.
  • The Hunter's Moon 2021.10.20#5874.3. Prescott Valley Arizona.
  • A Stripe-tailed Scorpion 2021.10.16#8085.3. Caught several now around the house, took photos and gave them a ride out on the prairie. Upper Agua Fria, Prescott Valley Arizona.
  • 2007.3.2#0068.6. A really exceptional example of the rainbow colors in petrified wood. I redeveloped this as I had done a very poor job back in 2007. Iron and magnesium contribute the most in the red, orange, yellow and even dark colors. Chromium adds the true green to the silica replacement. See AZ,PFNP in the Western Landscape and Places Gallery. I am adding many new images from the Petrified Nat. Park in Arizona now.
  • A cross section of extraordinary 'Rainbow Jasper" in petrified wood 2021.10.21#0900.3. On the Long Logs Trail in the Petrified Forest in Arizona.
  • A beautiful chunk of petrified Jasper. On the trail to Agate House in the Long Logs area of the Petrified Forest Nat. Park Arizona.

  • Frosty View Lodge, my luckiest cap ever! On the job. 2021.9.29#1571.3. I lost it for a couple of years thinking it was gone forever. Then I found it inside another special cap. I had to take it out one more time, it still works! Photo by Tina J.
