  • 2017.5.16#1115.7crp. This black Bear's size is what impressed me first, but I would soon be totally puzzled by his behavior. I thought he was grazing on the new spring grass as most bears are occupied with at this time. But then I realized as he kept flopping on the ground he was capturing mice or voles and literally holding them down and chewing them out of the ground. In the last high pass east of Stone Mountain Park before dropping into the Muskwa country in northern British Columbia Canada.
