  • A Blue-winged Teal 2015.6.5. A species that was not very plentiful when I lived in the North Country. Spenard Crossing, Anchorage Alaska. See the  Alaska Bird gallery for many more north country bird images.

  • The Silver Cholla 2020.3.5#7612.3. Cylindropuntia eschinocarpa. The only one I found in the Mohawk Sand Dunes when I was shooting Ajo Lilly's. I was told it was the first in a few years the Lilly's appeared as good as they were. This Cholla had four flowers but most of it was brown and dead. This is obviously a harsh environment even for these plants that have evolved and adapted to living here for a long time. Mohawk Sand Dunes, south of Tacna Arizona.
